A volunteer writes: Lawton is a petite kitty who warms up to new friends quickly. She exuberantly leans into pets and seems to glow with just a little bit of attention from people. Lawton has a toy mouse that she loves to pieces and it's truly adorable to watch her toss it around and cuddle with it. But what Lawton will truly love is a forever family. Come meet this warm and playful girl today!What my friends at ACC say about me:Queenie was in the den with very large pupils, but poked her head out when called, sniffed treats and then allowed and enjoyed petting, warming up and leaning in for cheek rubbing. This went on for a little while and then she hissed without warning, and after a pause allowed and enjoyed more cheek rubs. She could not be fully coaxed out of the den.Queenie interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting but can become nervous and may hiss. We recommend that she go to a home with some cat experience preferred or at least be well counseled in nervous cat behavior that can lead to defensiveness.Please check here for updated adoption hours.
